Peterson Hollow Fire - 08/25/16 Update - am

The fire burning to the west of the Bear Lake Valley near Beaver Mountain in Logan Canyon continues to grow. The fire is approximately 7 miles to the west of the Bear Lake Valley.

The update from the PIO on the Peterson Hollow file is now available. Also, check this link for more info on location and resources allocated.

As of this morning (Aug 25) the fire is reportedly at 1121 acres  with 10% containment. The weather today should be more compatible to fighting fire than for the fire to grow. Smoke near US 89 could cause safety issues due to low visibility. The roads and trails in the Beaver Mountain area remain closed. Smoke is visible in the Garden City area however the fire remains at a safe distance from the Garden City area.
