Peterson Hollow Fire - 08/26/16 Update
The fire burning to the west of the Bear Lake Valley near Beaver Mountain in Logan Canyon continues to grow. The fire is approximately 6 miles to the northwest of Garden City.
The latest update from the PIO on the Peterson Hollow file is now available from the morning of 08/26/16. Also, check this link for more info on location and resources allocated.
As of August 26th am the fire is reportedly at 1121 acres  with 10% containment. Chuck Wood attended a meeting in Garden City last night that was held for govt and HOA leaders to learn more about the situation. Much work is being done to keep this fire out of the Bear Lake Valley.
Incident commanders continue pushing for additional resources. We are finding the Inci page to be the most detailed source of information.
For more updates throughout the day please check the Facebook page of:
U.S. Forest Service Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest
And the Twitter feed of @utahwildfire.
The HOA board (contact Chuck Wood) is in contact with the Forest Service and Bear Lake County fire personnel regarding the status of this fire and whether it will affect the subdivision.
The fire is at a safe distance at this morment. If this situation changes, we will have between 12-24 hours notice if the fire becomes an issue for us. Please check back to this page for further updates.
